IQVIA Introduces "One Home" Platform to Simplify Clinical Trials and Reduce Site Burden

Thursday, June 13, 2024

IQVIA (NYSE) has introduced One Home for Sites™, a novel technology platform aimed at simplifying clinical trial management. This platform provides a unified sign-on and dashboard, integrating various systems and tasks used by clinical research sites across multiple trials.

Clinical research sites often face challenges managing numerous usernames and passwords for different software applications. This can detract from their ability to recruit and treat patients effectively and limit the number of trials they can manage. One Home for Sites addresses these issues by allowing pharmaceutical sponsors and software providers to integrate their clinical applications into a single platform. Acting as a neutral aggregator, connector, and communicator, this centralized system aims to free up site staff to concentrate more on research and patient care.

According to Bernd Haas, senior vice president of IQVIA Digital Products and Solutions, “As site capacity becomes a critical industry challenge, we feel it's our duty to offer a solution that unites stakeholders and reduces the burden on research sites. IQVIA One Home for Sites is uniquely positioned to mitigate the negative impact of technology proliferation currently affecting sites.”

The development of One Home for Sites was informed by feedback from over 100 site personnel to ensure it meets their specific needs. IQVIA Prime Sites, committed clinical trial institutes or networks partnering long-term with IQVIA, are currently piloting the platform to gather feedback on user experience and efficiencies gained. The platform is also being tested in collaboration with various clinical technology vendors and pharmaceutical companies, recognizing the need for an industry-wide solution to enhance site capacity and expedite new treatment delivery.

Sharlene Carnegie, senior vice president of Platform at Medidata, remarked, “The fragmented landscape of technology solutions poses challenges for site users. We are excited to collaborate with IQVIA on One Home for Sites to help integrate systems and save time and resources for sites and sponsors.” Medidata, a brand under Dassault Systèmes, is among the initial partners in the One Home for Sites initiative.

Richard Staub, president of IQVIA Research & Development Solutions, emphasized, “One Home represents a strategic commitment for our organization. By aggregating clinical trial systems, it enhances productivity at sites, and I believe it will bring significant value to the clinical research community and the studies we conduct.”
